Cookie policy
This website gets by with a minimum of cookies. We use no tracking and no advertising cookies.
What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. They make it possible to keep a setting across several page views.
Which cookies do we set?
| Name | Purpose | Lifetime | Type |
|---|---|---|---|
tariffic_dialin |
Remembers the dial-in country you selected so that rates are shown with the correct VAT on every visit. | 90 days | Functional, first-party |
tariffic_pp |
Matches your return from PayPal to the top-up you started. Holds your phone number, the amount and the state of the payment. | 3 hours | Necessary, first-party |
tariffic_dialin is technically necessary to keep the display you chose. It contains only a country code such as de and no personal data.
tariffic_pp is set only when you start a payment with PayPal. We send you to PayPal and need to match your return to the correct transaction, so the cookie holds your phone number, the selected amount and whether payment has already gone through. It is signed against tampering, cannot be read by JavaScript, is never passed to PayPal and expires after three hours.
Legal basis
Both cookies are strictly necessary for a service you explicitly requested. Storing them on your device is therefore based on Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG and does not require consent.
Where personal data is processed in the course of this — with tariffic_pp, your registered phone number — it is processed to perform the contract under Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. The data stays in your browser, is not passed to third parties and is discarded automatically after three hours.
Payment provider cookies
When you start a payment on the top up page, PayPal or PaysafeCard set their own cookies to carry out and secure the payment. These cookies are only set once you start the payment. Details are in each provider's privacy notice.
What we do not use
- No analytics or statistics cookies
- No advertising or marketing cookies
- No cross-site profiling
Deleting cookies
You can delete stored cookies at any time in your browser settings, or block them altogether. If you block tariffic_dialin, the website keeps working — your dial-in country simply resets to Germany on every visit. If you block tariffic_pp, a PayPal payment cannot be completed; topping up with PaysafeCard still works.
More information
How we handle your data is described in the website privacy notice and the app privacy notice.
